History is littered with mankind’s atrocities
Learning to kill each other with greater velocity
The endless struggle to fulfill needs and desires
Everyone is capable of intolerance and violence
In ancient fields and country plains
Crowded cities filled with remains
Fighting throughout history
Ancient battles for supremacy
From tribal warriors fighting with hands and spears
To nations torturing and starving millions of their peers
Humanity has been an example of hatred
This is how our species has been bred
Slaughter on a massive scale
It's the strong who prevail
Bodies of captives and slaves
Lie in legions of graves
In the ground and deep in caves
Death comes in waves
Conquer, control and exert dominance
To help keep society homogenous
Stand in solidarity to destroy all the others
Help kill their sons and rape their mothers
Way before Rome in ancient lands
Lay slaughtered bodies rotting in sand
Now living in the modern era
The number dead is no better
A single person may be horrible or pleasant
But grouped together hatred becomes present
People banded together in a tribe or nation
Ultimately causes others to suffer deprivation
Slaughter on a massive scale
It's the strong who prevail
Bodies of captives and slaves
Lie in legions of graves
In the ground and deep in caves
Death comes in waves
Countless examples of the atrocities of man
From the largest nations to the smallest clan
Committing torture rape murder and slavery
Heinous acts mistaken as bravery
Encoded in our offspring
Time will not change a thing
Inhumanity in our past
Forever it will last
Where there are humans there is suffering
Gorging upon corpses recurring
Growing off of pain and misery
It was and always shall be

Programmed To Die
04:03
|
|||
In the end we all suffer the same fate
Succumbing to age the cure is too late
No way to prevent your dying date
Degeneration starts with birth
Living to die everything on earth
Embedded in the genetic code
Rapid decay can only be slowed
Moving towards the end each and every day
Through cellular death and radioactive decay
The caps on our DNA eventually will rot away
No cells are sparred broken strands go unrepaired
Chromosome ravage from environmental damage
All the years that go by everything is programmed to die
Planets will disintegrate atmosphere will ablate
Neutrons decay away the laws of nature they obey
At the end in the dark it will repeat with a spark
All the years that go by everything is programmed to die
All matter will turn to energy
Putting the universe in jeopardy
All will be nothing eventually
Stars will swell and stars will collapse
No way to stop it time will elapse
All life and light will eventually fade
The cosmos is a masquerade
Moving towards the end each and every day
Through cellular death and radioactive decay
All that is all that was all that will ever be
Will decay will breakdown will dissolve eventually
Whether near whether far no matter where in space
Everything no longer will exist anyplace

The Insignificance Of
04:03
|
|||
The insignificance of
The lives in which we live
The endless search for meaning
To which there's none to give
We are ever so small
A spec in infinity
Living a brief moment in time
Obscured by eternity
Once it's viewed off the Earth
The time we spend has no worth
All our actions all we do
Whatever it is we pursue
From our very lows to our best
To the universe unprocessed
Space cannot comprehend
What is the meaning of friend
Stars have no eyes to see
What we call enemy
The universe does not care
The meaning of life is bare
A never ending loop
Of beginnings and ends
The true meaning of time
We cannot comprehend
Once it's viewed off the Earth
The time we spend has no worth
All our actions all we do
Whatever it is we pursue
From our very lows to our best
To the universe unprocessed
Space cannot comprehend
What is the meaning of friend
Stars have no eyes to see
What we call enemy
The universe does not care
The meaning of life is bare
The vastness of space goes on
An unending sea of stars
The vastness of time goes on
A countless number of stars
In a vast number of galaxies
In a universe contained
Within uncountable realities
The universe was before
It will exist long after
The many times we cry
And beyond all the laughter
When our existence ends
And there's nothing left within
The planets will still orbit
The galaxies will still spin

Sending Death
04:04
|
|||
You praise God for the good
You don't blame him for the bad
You praise him when you're happy
And even when you’re sad
You think his only act
Is one of kindness
An unseen force doing all that is good
Send your praise to the sky
Waiting for your savior to arrive
You'll wait until you die
Pray to cure the disease he gave
No blame for the lives he won't save
Pray to get rid of the sorrow
Even though he'll send more tomorrow
Pray to live for many years
No mention of all the tears
Pray for help after a storm
To you sending death is the norm
You give thanks for nothing
You are praying for nothing
Why would you give praise
When the world is ablaze
To a being that could prevent
A life full of torment
To a being that could refrain
From causing a life of pain
Nothing could be more clear
That the truth is what you fear
God would be the one to atone
But really we're all on our own
